The Current State of Southern Lebanon

Lebanon has been enduring a humanitarian crisis for the past few months, impacting countless people. Several individuals have lost loved ones and their homes, particularly in the southern part of the country.

Families returning to their villages are homeless and displaced as a result of the destruction. These civilians witnessed unimaginable loss of life, livelihoods, safe housing, communities, and services provided by the government.

The Zahra Trust Canada strives to uplift these families and communities by rebuilding an economic and cultural core in Nabatiyeh.

Rebuilding Lebanon

People must be empowered in order for the community spirit to be revived. Primarily, families must find closure in their tragedy by appropriately burying their loved ones.  In addition, rebuilding a business hub could serve as the next step toward a brighter future. A commercial hub could offer people a chance to apply their skill sets and return to employment, as well as a fresh start for families who have lost everything.

Our team has chosen to focus on Nabatiyeh, which is in the northern region of Litani. This particular spot is a historical site that was formerly a commercial hub. It has around 60 commercial stores and over 200 sections, including clinics, offices, medical laboratories, libraries, and a variety of other facilities.
