Goals 4 Humanity 2024: Yemen Aid
Yemen now enters its ninth year of conflict, with more than 21 million in need of humanitarian assistance, exacerbated by the World Food Programme’s recent decision to pause aid to Yemen.
In the midst of all this turmoil, a small group of soccer fans with an unwavering desire to help alleviate the pain faced by millions of people across the globe are coming together for a good cause – for the 8th consecutive year.
In response to the ongoing crisis, The Zahra(s) Trust Canada has been on the ground delivering vital aid, focusing on essential needs such as food aid, clean drinking water, shelter and seasonal aid.
As the crisis continues, the need for humanitarian assistance in Yemen increases each day, and we can only continue to provide relief with your support.
We’ve delivered 1,600 food parcels and 200 Qurbani goats fulfilled, feeding thousands of people in dire need of nourishment.
We’ve built 4 Water filtration plants.
Our ultra-filtration water plants provide up to 60,000 litres of clean water per day with the capacity to support up to 50,000 people.
Recently, we launched a project in Al Hudayda with a plan to build 200 homes for families to live in so that they can begin to rebuild their lives.
Houses come furnished and in two sizes: 100 square meters or 70 square meters, depending on the family size.
Once the homes have been built, we hand the deeds over to the families directly so it’s theirs for life.
Each house costs $30,000 and will provide a safe place to live for a family so they can begin to work towards a brighter future.
With millions in need of acute aid, we work to provide beneficiaries with whatever they need most. This may be in the form of food, water or financial relief.
All proceeds from the charity game will go toward Yemen’s Humanitarian Relief Aid at The Zahra(s) Trust Canada.
